It just keeps getting better and better! Everyday is a highlight. There is so much uncertainty but this trip is truely in the Lord's hands and He gets all the credit. I cannot say enough about how this unfolds. We have repeatedly said this is about family and not so much about seeing the sights - but we get to do both. Today we left Timmernabben and Fagervik and stopped soon at the Orrefors glass (crystal - I don't know how to spell it, I wonder why???) factory. I want to take as much credit for it as Marilyn, but it really was her idea. The kids had no idea, but I had a hunch it would be worth it. It will go down as one of the greatest "tourist traps" we have ever stopped at - like Universal Studios and the Jelly Bean Factory. There is the usual gift shop and an even bigger crystal shopping room. We got a few things but then we bought the tour. It was short (one stop) but worth it. There was really only one furnace running with a team of 4 making dishes. After a movie description, we watched them make one. It takes 4 people, working together, about 15 minutes to make one. Then we had a chance to make one for ourselves. We convinced Marilyn to "try" it. She did. Here it is! Wow. You will have to come to the house to see it and see the video I made.
Next, we headed to the one stop on the Anderson side of the family. This is the family of Amanda, Marilyn's grandmother, in Ljungby. We met at Iris' home and were greeted by Mia and her parents.
What a wonderful meeting/greeting. Everybody had a good time talking and making ties and connections. Mia's boyfriend (both of them are in school in Uppsalla) followed the World Cup but so did the entire family because Mia had gone to California on a soccer scholarship and her dad Konnie was a soccer coach.
